Manufactured by Gigavac, a Sensata Technologies brand, the GX series has been a field-proven pioneer since 2002 and is recognized as one of the industry's first ceramic-insulated hermetically sealed DC contactor families. Ceramic-insulated hermetic sealing keeps the contacts unaffected by humidity, dust, vibration and explosive atmospheres; arc interruption takes place inside the sealed envelope, extending contact life and eliminating the need for external magnetic blowouts. Depending on frame size, GX contactors carry 150A to 1000A continuous current, withstand inrush currents from 1000A up to 6000A (model dependent) and operate across the full 12V–800Vdc range. They are the global reference for EV main contactors, battery management and energy-storage systems, DC fast-charging stations, renewable-energy converters and industrial DC power distribution.
