For productivity gains in research labs and pharmaceutical plants, fine pipette work during cell culture was placed under remote operation.

• Collaborative robots operate on both the operator and remote sides.
• Small high-precision servo motors drive the pipette body so that the operator's subtle motions are conveyed to the remote robot as if performed on-site.
• Operation data (robot behavior, pipette motion, video) is logged so the effect of fine pipette work on cells can be analyzed.
